Sweeping chimneys in Bramhall
Bramhall is large-house territory, and that shapes the work. Much of it went up between the wars and in the decades after as generous detached and semi-detached property on wide plots, with a smaller core of older housing around the village and the hall.
Houses that size often have more than one fireplace, and a good proportion have had woodburners or multi fuel stoves fitted in the last twenty years. Whether that stove went into a lined flue or straight into a masonry chimney built for an open fire makes a real difference to how often we need to see you.
It is also an area where money gets spent on renovation, which means reopened fireplaces, knocked-through rooms and the occasional flue that has been altered in ways the original builder never intended.
